Mohau Nkota’s solitary strike gave the Buccaneers maximum points in what was a rather dull affair.</p>Pirates move up, SuperSport stay in a relegation battle<p>The win moves Pirates to 59 points with two matches left to play. Meanwhile, Matsatsantsa a Pitori are still embroiled in a relegation play-off battle after 26 matches.</p><p>ALSO READ: All the pressure is on SuperSport as Pirates come to town</p><p>SuperSport will next play Richards Bay and they still have an outstanding match against Golden Arrows, which was abandoned in February at half timew due to a power failure with the score tied at 1-1.</p><p>The first half between Pirates and SuperSport proved to be a low-key affair, with neither side creating clear-cut chances.The best opportunity of the opening 45 minutes fell to Lebohang Maboe, but he blasted his left-footed effort over the bar from inside the box.</p><p> <p> <p> <p> Read more </p> Promoted Durban City cleared over player protest </p> </p> </p><p>Pirates were without the influential Relebohile Mofokeng due to suspension. His absence was felt as the Soweto giants lacked bite in the final third. It was a disjointed performance against a United team that was happy to play without the ball. There was a senior debut for Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla, who came in for Sipho Chaine. Coincidentally, Dladla was also celebrating his 24th birthday.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>SuperSport shot-stopper Thakasani Mbanjwa came off his line to deny Nkota from a tight angle in the 57th minute. Nkota was set up by Tshegofatso Mabasa, who had dropped deep to collect the ball, but the move was thwarted by an outstretched hand of Mbanjwa.</p>Kimvuidi class<p>The introduction of Karim Kimvuidi on the hour mark gave Pirates the impetus they needed. Nyiko Mobbie’s header hit the upright on the stroke of full-time with Dladla well beaten. The PSL found nothing wrong with the registration of Mr Magawana,” said PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu. </p>Spurs protest against Durban City moved to Wednesday<p>Majavu added that the PSL had received a protest over the same player from Cape Town Spurs. The protests have arisen from the fact that it was Marumo Gallants that issued his clearance, and not Leruma United, who had bought the first division status of Gallants. </p><p> </p><p>Spurs’ case looks increasingly desperate given that a 1-0 loss to Durban City on the weekend meant that they were relegated to the third tier of South African football. </p>‘Respecting the rights’<p>The PSL did take the step of not handing the Motsepe Foundation Trophy over to Durban City after Sunday’s game. </p><p>“I will give a furher update on Cape Town Spurs after tomorrow,” added Majavu. </p><p>ALSO READ: Midfielder headed for Pirates exit</p><p> </p><p>“I can also assure football loving consumers that the league is doing all it can to make sure normal activities are not disrupted, while respecting the rights of all parties involved. Picture: Michel Bega</p> </p><p> </p> <p> <p>The ANC regional task team (RTT) in the Peter Mokaba region is pleading with the office of the party’s secretary-general, Fikile Mbalula, to enforce the national dispute resolution committee (NDRC) mechanism to fast track resolving disputes. </p><p>This after disputes were lodged by branches during branch general meetings (BGMs), ahead of the regional elective conferences. </p><p>The conferences are a build-up to the provincial elective conference, which will then culminate into the national elective conference in 2027. </p>ANC in turmoil over unresolved disputes<p>The conference cannot sit if the disputes are not completely resolved. Do not leave them unattended, so that we can prevent fire incidents which might occur at home during these extremely cold temperatures.</p><p>“From our side, as the city of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services, together with our disaster management and monitoring teams, we remain on high alert, monitoring all seven regions of the city for any emergencies which might occur,” Mulaudzi said.</p>Other parts of SA<p>The weather service warned of wet, windy, and cold to very cold conditions over the western high-lying areas of the Western Cape and southern parts of the Northern Cape and Free State. Now, what’s the question?” </p><p>Nowhere is that more apparent than at national, provincial or municipal government level. </p><p>In reality, many of the supposed “civil” servants who wield such power over the daily lives of citizens do not regard those they deal with as customers. </p><p>In many of our towns and big metros, the phrase “service delivery” has taken on a mocking, ironic life. </p><p>ALSO READ: Legislature subpoena adds to SAHRC complaint against Emfuleni municipality</p><p> <p> <p> <p> Read more </p> NW court showdown could change the face of local government </p> </p> </p><p>No surprise then, that when we decided to put our big municipalities to the customer service test – the simple matter of whether the phone is answered or not – there was a less than satisfactory outcome. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>If you live in places like eThekwini (Durban), Mogale City or Ekurhuleni, you can forget about any calls being answered promptly – if at all. </p><p>In Joburg and Pretoria, the calls might be answered – if not immediately, then at least the phones are picked up – but you may find yourself cut off before you are directed to the department which can help you. Picture: Nigel Sibanda</p> </p><p> </p> <p> <p>One would think that, in what could be the Last Chance Saloon for South Africa in Washington today, President Cyril Ramaphosa won’t have many cards to play in the game of diplomatic poker – because President Donald Trump holds all the aces. </p><p>The United States may be South Africa’s second-biggest trading partner, but it is hardly a blip on America’s trade radar, so what would Ramaphosa be able to offer to entice or placate Trump? </p><p>Some believe Ramaphosa should do the sort of deal done by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and hand over our supposed vast resources. </p><p>Reality check: SA’s natural resources are dwindling and the rapidly changing nature of global technology means our minerals are now not as critical to the West as they were during the Cold War. </p><p>Nor can we claim to be important because we sit astride the critical Cape Sea Route, which has assumed more importance in recent years because of the trouble in the Red Sea region. </p><p> <p> <p> <p> Read more </p> WATCH: ‘Fear not’ Ramaphosa says, as Johann Rupert and Ernie Els expected to join Trump meeting </p> </p> </p><p>ALSO READ: Ramaphosa faces an impossible task in meeting with Trump</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We lack the military resources to either protect, or threaten, anybody. One US Navy aircraft carrier group would overwhelm us before you could say “outgunned and outclassed.” </p><p>To escape relatively unscathed from the encounter with Trump – or to avoid further serious pressure from Washington – Ramaphosa will be forced to consider making some public gesture. </p><p>He may say he will place farm murders at the top of his priority list; he may even bend black ownership rules to allow Elon Musk’s Starlink to operate here. </p><p>But it is highly unlikely he will commit political suicide by rolling back on the alleged scores of race-linked laws, which are a major reason some whites feel they are persecuted. </p><p> </p><p>Nor will he change course on Israel. If someone says that it is always going to be open to resetting relations, but it will have to touch on some of the issues just pointed out now.</p><p> </p><p>“Obviously, the position they’ve adopted towards Israel is not just off balance, but completely geared towards one side, and it makes one wonder about these allegations that are out there now of foreign influence, including with Iran. They are clearly on the global stage, and multiple multinational organisations have consistently been a vote against America’s interests time and again,” Rubio said.</p>‘Zelensky-style ambush’<p>There is speculation about how the meeting will go, with fears Ramaphosa is walking into a “Zelensky-style ambush”, referring to the viral clash that took place when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House in February.</p><p>Ramaphosa told journalists in Washington that he was hoping for “really good” discussions with Trump and his administration.</p><p>“I’m looking forward to a really good and positive meeting, and we’re looking forward to a very good outcome for our country, for our people, for the jobs in our country and good trade relations and [normalising] relations between our two countries.”</p><p> </p>Foreign policy <p>Ramaphosa said he will also clarify South Africa’s policy positions on a range of pressing geopolitical matters.</p><p>“We are going to have an opportunity to discuss geopolitical issues, not only Israel, but also Ukraine. So all these matters will be on the table for proper discussion, and we are very rational when it comes to discussing global and geopolitical matters.</p><p>“We will put South Africa’s interests first, and our own foreign policy positions will be well clarified. Having also won the award in 2022, the bank has now earned the accolade in 2024 for its focus on innovation, digitization and sustainability. BBVA Spain Country Manager Peio Belausteguigoitia described the award as “a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the entire BBVA team” and emphasized the bank’s commitment to integrating advanced technologies to improve customer service. In addition, BBVA received the global award for financial inclusion for its work through the BBVA Microfinance Foundation. This companion analyzes the customer’s financial situation and suggests specific steps they can take to help improve their personal finances. The coach makes an initial assessment of the customer’s income, expenses, savings and loans and identifies opportunities for improvement. The user is the one who decides whether or not they would like to set a savings goal or cost control target. Customers can reserve whatever amount they want, separating it from their checking account. Now, BBVA will reward customers for good savings habits with a six percent bonus for customers who regularly set aside part of their income each month. Tirsdag tok han nok en gang til motmæle mot vurderingene til psykiaterne. De ser klassiske, feminine og elegante ut, men har en skikkelig komfortfaktor i tillegg. Video: Thea Hope </p> </p>- Like fine i dag <p></p><p>Mens de kongelige som nevnes ovenfor altsåtilsynelatende kan anskaffe seg nesten ubegrenset med luksussko i ulike farger og varianter, er det ikke til å komme utenom at prisen for Gianvito Rossi-sko er rimelig stiv.</p> <p>- Ja, det er kostbare sko, men igjen - her er det virkelig snakk om kvalitet. Og med så gode sko blir cost per wear(«pris per bruk»; regnes ved å dele prisen på antall ganger man har brukt noe, journ.anm.)relativt lav.I forhold til mange designer-produkter er det en god investering. Jeg kjøpte mine for sikkert ti år siden og de er like fine i dag. Foto: Splash News/ NTB </p> </p><p>- For de av oss med mer beskjedne skobudsjetter; har du noen tips til hvordan man få rimeligere pumps til å bli mer komfortable?</p> <p></p><p>- Hvis man vil ha den samme looken med litt spisse pumps, er det lurt å gå opp en halv størrelse og heller legge inn en innleggssåle. Og ikke kjøp sko rett før du skal ut og ha det gøy; gå ut skoene på forhånd. Også kan man investere i et par små ballerinaer du kan ha i vesken og bytte til etter hvert. Det finnes utrolig mange klassiske pumps i rimeligere utgaver, men man får litt det man betaler for, sier Jemtegård, og tilføyer:</p> <p></p><p> </p><p>- Det viktigste er å ta godt vare på skoene, bruke fett på skinnet og impregnering, og sette på nytt underlag på sålen og hælene. Åse er på stranda. Hun vil fange fisk. Det går irriterende dårlig, men en krabbe får hun tak i og plasserer i bøtta. Ei bøtte er jo litt smått, Åse sikter høyere. Hun bygger et slott til krabben, med basseng og flaggstang. Åse er en forbausende flink konstruktør, og krabben er like forbausende uinteressert i den flotte boligen.</p> <p>Den vesle jenta tenker seg om: «Kanskje krabber har det best i havet»?</p> <p></p><p>Raknes illustrerer med klare linjer, knæsje farger og lek med perspektiver. Dette er ikke en myldrebok, men her er nok å feste blikket på. I én av illustrasjonene er perspektivet ovenfra og ned, (les: Åses), vi ser simpelheten bare tær, gjennom vann. Ved andre gangs lesning oppdager kanskje barnet at Åses skygge også finnes i bildet.</p> <p>Sånne små «hemmeligheter», er gull. Eller den voksne kan anspore barnet; hva mer ser du? Alle de åpenbare ordene/tingene fra en strand er med i illustrasjonene.</p> <p>Leseren kan peke på og lære «båt», «krabbe», «skjell». Men her er også mulighet til å bevege seg i språkkategoriene, kanskje etter en del samlesninger. Det er ikke bare skjell, men kamskjell. Ikke bare fugl, men måke og tjeld. Boka om Åse har det. Den er en fortelling om Åse på stranda, der foreldrene kun er statister i bakgrunnen. Men det er også en bok om å ta en annens perspektiv – i dette tilfellet en krabbe. Om innlevelse og empati.</p> <p>Åse vurderer seriøst å ta med krabben hjem, men er det mulig at et hjem ikke er det samme for alle? Her er det mangt å snakke om.</p> <p>Lek, innlevelse og erkjennelse (!) er felles for Åse-bøkene. I førsteboka, «Åse og Kjeks» (sistnevnte en hund), leker Åse hund. Ved å leke og leve seg inn i hundelivet, lærer hun hvordan det kan være å være en annen, og erkjenner at det i grunnen er greit å være Åse også. I bok nummer to, «Åse blir storesøster», leker hun baby. Leken er både forberedelse og læring. Hun spilte hovedrollen i dansefilmen «Battle» i 2018, og har også vært å se i kortfilmen «Forestillingen». I 2023 tok hun over rollen som Maria, moren til Petra, i barnefilmen «Karsten og Petra: Gullringen fra Atlantis», en rolle som tidligere ble spilt av Janne Formoe.</p> <p></p><p>Josefine Frida Pettersen (28) (Noora Amalie Sætre)</p> <p>Josefine har gjort seg bemerket på teaterscenen. Hun har hatt roller i musikalen «Hair» og komedien «Slaget på Teskelstad». Problemet var at parkeringsplassen er kommunal eiendom, men den er ikke klassifisert som kommunal vei – dermed kunne ikke kommunen sette opp skilt eller sperringer, slik vi fikk forklart, sa Nielsen. </p> <p></p><p> Til slutt så klubben seg nødt til å sette inn vakthold for å få en stopp på hærverket. </p> <p> Ifølge golfklubben har det hatt effekt å leie inn nattevakter for resten av russetiden. Det står bare «oppsøk lege».</p> <p>- Jeg forsto ikke omfanget av skader den kunne forårsake.
